The “Framework" establishes the “Methodology" used to accomplish the goals. Methodologies are more specific than frameworks as they apply to the specific objectives. Methodologies include a specific set of methods, rules, formulas and procedures. Going back to our educational example above, the socratic methodology used to teach a student law is different than the scientific inquiry methodology used in the sciences. As such different methodologies are required for different goals and objectives.
Methodologies fall into one of the four Framework categories (Assessments, Screens, Tests and Surveys) and can be used interchangeably like legos in a project. But like all systems, there is one piece of the system that creates the foundation to build off of which in the case of Six Sigma Fitness™️ is a proprietary assessment methodology named the Regional Adipose Tissue Deposit Profile (RATDP).
The RATDP This is a 12 site subcutaneous body fat assessment preferably performed with a specific “tool”, an Intelametrix handheld ultrasound but could be performed with a pair of high grade calipers as well. This is our lead certifiable methodology and the foundation to everything else that comes after it.

Before I go on, it should be noted that the Six Sigma Fitness™️ program uses many technological tools in our methodologies that we have taught to many coaches, but the key is integrating them all into a cohesive method that can help clients or athletes get results. We have used our framework of methodologies on hundreds of clients and on one of the largest professional Mixed Martial Arts teams in the country The MMA LAB.
Examples of Methodologies include:
- Body Composition
- Regional Adipose Tissue Deposit Profile
- Body Circumference Measurements
- VO2max Testing
- Lactate Threshold Testing
- Functional Movement Screen
- Biomarkers
- Vital Signs
- Fitness Standards Tests
- Movement Velocity Tests
- Heart Rate Variability Testing
- Recovery Markers
- Health Surveys
- Nutritional Surveys
- Nutritional Logs
- Habit Compliance
Methodologies and Tools are the most evolving aspect of the system as science and technology evolves so must methodologies and tools.
